Warwick Estate, Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2019
Made from old bush vines, planted in 1978, that produce a small harvest of beautifully concentrated fruit.
Baked apple, cinnamon, and ripe stone fruits on the nose. Quince, peach, and thatch follow on to the palate. Great texture, mineral, pithy, and fresh.
The newest addition to the Warwick portfolio, and certainly one to get excited about.

“A new wine to the Warwick portfolio, although the vineyard was planted in 1978 and came with the Uitkyk purchase, this is an exciting old-vine Chenin Blanc. Rich and concentrated with stylish wood, patisserie and citrus fruit and racy minerality.”

“Simply delicious 2019 has baked quince, apple & pineapple on palate, gains a lovely texture from ageing on lees 10 months with regular rolling of the barrels, all older 400L. Only portion through malo to retain freshness.”
