92pts | Tim Atkin
The High Road’s Bordeaux-style reds have moved up a notch in quality since Miles Mossop took over as consultant. This deftly wooded cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon with 55% Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec is typically poised, elegant and refined, offering a lot of quality at the price. Leafy, floral aromas segue into a polished, nuanced palate with fine tannins and refreshing acidity. 2022-27

Style change to riper, plusher & rounded merlot (40%) blend with cab, cab franc, malbec & petit verdot. 2018 ample dark cherry fruit with dry, lithe tannins from 10 months in old oak & 30 months in bottle. Already appealing, for earlier drinking than 2017 (4.5 stars, 90 pts).
